The Euro has been widely seen as one of the greatest achievements of the European integration and a corner stone of Europe’s economic stability and prosperity. The global financial and economic turbulence has however highlighted its weaknesses, damaged its credibility and made the currency increasingly unpopular among the Europeans. What does the future hold for the Euro? Will we see a move towards an ever closer or looser economic and monetary union? What are the views of the main architects of the new system in the making?
