Noora Kotilainen (Dsoc.sci) is a political historian focusing on visual communication, media, war, crises, suffering, violence, international politics, and militarism. She is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Helsinki, the director of the project “The Language of Military Power in Finnish Democracy” (2022-2025) funded by the Kone Foundation. She has worked in several Academy of Finland projects at University of Helsinki, the National Defence University and the University of Jyväskylä.
