China is building islands on a controversial sea area

Senior Research Fellow at the Institute Jyrki Kallio commented on the territorial disputes on the South China Sea in Helsingin Sanomat on November 30th. According to him, China’s sea frontier demands have more to do with resisting past colonial powers such as Japan than with China’s current neighbouring countries.
