Program Director at the Institute Mika Aaltola commented on the speech that Sofi Oksanen, writer, held in Latvia in Iltalehti on May 3rd. In her speech Sofi Oksanen criticized the Finnish way of not analysing the Finlandization Era. Aaltola said that the picture Sofi Oksanen created was quite real, and that he agrees with the fact that a sort of denial prevails in Finland.
