Research Fellow at the Institute Veera Laine commented on Russia’s proposed media law in an article published by MTV on September 24th. According to Laine, the purpose of restricting foreign ownership in Russian media to 20 percent is at least partly to ensure Vladimir Putin’s victory in the next presidential election.
