Senior Research Fellow at the Institute Kristi Raik commented on the situation in Ukraine and the Minsk talks in Yle Puhe’s Politiikkaradio on August 26th. According to her, Russia’s short term goal seems to be to create a frozen conflict and some kind of separatist state similar to Transnistria in Eastern Ukraine.
