Senior Research Fellow at the Institute Sinikukka Saari commented on the sanctions against Russia in Iltalehti and Etelä-Suomen Sanomat on October 15th. According to her, the sanctions create a mentality of a country under siege that makes Russians think the West wishes bad luck for Russia. She also said that the current atmosphere probably makes people answer opinion polls the way that is expected of them because no one wants any problems.
