The EU's sanctions against Russia would represent a turn in Germany's foreign policy

Research Fellow Niklas Helwig’s FIIA Comment was noted by Verkkouutiset on March 19th. In the comment, Helwig said the the attachment of Crimea to Russia took place against the rules of international law and complied with – by the words of chancellor Angela Merkel – the law of the jungle. Helwig believes that the events will lead to major reassessment of Germany’s Russia policy.
