The political power of the euro

Institute Director Teija Tiilikainen wrote about the ‘political power of the euro’ in the magazine Pohjan Akka, published by Women in Europe. According to Dr Tiilikainen, eurozone citizens have been satisfied with the single currency, although it has not fulfilled the expectations placed on it. Finland is one example of a country where people have at times been more content with the common currency than with EU membership in general, she writes.
