Senior Research Fellow at the Institute Wolfgang Mühlberger commented on the Syrian civil war in an article published by Svenska Yle on December 1st. According to Mühlberger, the fact that the terror organisation Isis has established a cross-boundary presence does not mean that the borders have vanished. Isis is simply filling a power vacuum in the borderlands, he said.
