The Finnish Institute of International Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and Notre Europe, are organizing an Expert Roundtable:

The Future of EU Energy Governance: Towards a European Energy Community?

With a new EU Energy Strategy for 2011-2020 under preparation, what will be the future of EU Energy governance? This seminar aims to identify and discuss enhanced models of governance for the EU’s future energy policy. It will do so by looking at both top-down and bottom-up approaches for enhanced cooperation. What lessons can the EU learn from Nordic and Baltic models of enhanced cooperation? What are the challenges facing EU energy policy? And does Europe need a European Energy Community?
