PROBALT Project aims to improve societal conditions for the Baltic Sea protection. The project will be led by Programme
Director Tapani Vaahtoranta from the Finnish Institute of International
Affairs. In addition to Institute’s own researchers, the research team consists
of researchers from the University of Helsinki, the European University
at St. Petersburg, University
of Kiel and InfoSud in Geneva. The 3-year
project has budget of one million euro.

BONUS EEIG is a network of science funding organisations of
the Baltic countries. The aim of BONUS+ Programme is to fund research focused
on the sustainable development of the Baltic Sea.
Research proposals were called for from all nine Baltic region countries. 16
proposal were eventually selected from the total of 149 candidates.
