The Finnish Institute of International Affairs coordinated a project for the OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions.
The OSCE research network published its third report under the title of Reviving Co-operative Security in Europe through the OSCE. This international project was coordinated by FIIA and the final report was edited by FIIA’s director Teija Tiilikainen and research fellow Eeva Innola.
The report was presented at the Belgrade Security Forum on 1st October 2015 and was afterwards handed over to the OSCE Panel of Eminent Persons.
Seventeen of the key research institutes and university departments OSCE-wide contributed to this project by giving various perspectives on OSCE developments. The paper is a summary report edited on the basis of the contributions received from the members of the OSCE research network. The topics cover the main functions of the OSCE, analyzing general trends for the future from a broad perspective and putting emphasis on recommendations for how to improve the organization’s position and efficiency in the field of cooperative security.
