The Center for US Politics and Power at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs will organize a US research day in Helsinki on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. The topic of the event is ”Challenged Liberal World Order and Nordic-Baltic Security”. Proposals on both empirical and theoretical papers—addressing, for example, current challenges to liberal world order, transatlantic relations, US foreign and domestic policy, Nordic-Baltic security and the US role in the region—are welcomed.
The aim of FIIA’s Center for US Politics and Power, founded in 2013, is to provide research and expertise on US foreign and domestic policy, transatlantic relations and the US role in global politics and economy. In addition to conducting and publishing research, the Center organizes seminars and conferences.
The purpose of the research day, now organized for the third time, is to bring together scholars and other experts working on US politics and to support the development of US politics research in Finland. This year the research day will begin with the release of a FIIA report on Nordic-Baltic security, which will be followed by two workshops in the afternoon.
